5K is a good price for them. At 5K they start to become somewhat reasonable of a compensation for the time it takes to acquire the 5K Faction needed to get them At 2K, they aren't even close to being worth the time it takes to acquire 5K worth of Faction just for a measly 2K.

Well, say bye bye to Tormented Weapons. Then all Arenanet has to do is kill Destroyer weapons and then all weapons in the game will just continue to decline and decline until the High End forums in this site are dry as the Sahara.

Ummmm no. ever heard of unconditinoals, tyrian crystallines/dwarvens 15>50, nerfed -2-2 shileds, or r7? those will continue to fetch a ton of money. it jsut mean inscribable items or mid range 100k+10-30e weapons wont be worth anything.

Yeah its not going to drop tormented items or armbraces. Neither will it drop crafter items.

I don't think you have to worry about that. Tormented and Crafted Gwen items wont change.

You can farm 5k in gold a LOT faster than you can get 5k faction doing RA (the only click-and-go PVP we have). Other PVP types will net faction faster, but they involve organizing groups (except for hero battles, but not sure how those are for faction). People who pay 5k for a key are basically paying for other people's time.

5k is a trivial amount to pay for a chance at a 100k item. So, that's what the price is and should remain. I'm more than happy to take 5k for my keys as I don't care about vanity fair, but, I do like having plat to buy whatever I want when I want if I want. It's not going to drop your rare greens so you won't have to worry about those, but, I look for the prices of those to go higher and the prices for the more common rares that are dropping out of the chest increase. It's a good sink for balth faction and a good way for noobs and casuals to get some nice weapons now.

Can everyone please stop comparing the price of keys to the time it takes to get balth faction, the price is soley high atm because its new and people think they have the chance to obtain a rare drop.

A majority of people will lose a lot of money off keys in the next week and drive the price down, while a lucky few that got a drop got rich. Keys are a gamble.

5k is a bit too high for something that drops, consumables worth 500g, but then again people have sold things for way worse. Myself I'm just Ra-ing and selling until they drop the price.

plus armbrace has already dropped quite alot imo, dropping anymore will lose it's value. Imaging: if everyone got an armbrace and it's market price is 100g, would you still wear these tormenting weapons to show off? No, it would be just like
any old weapon. And the Anet will have to make some new weapons in some new elite mission in NF.

meh i should have sold the 40 keys i got from reward points >.< all i got was shitty consumables, a few req 13 golds and a elite monk tome - would have gained 200k instead of 20k...

- I got 3 Crème Brûlées and 2 gold items for 5 keys. I didn't buy them though.
